Verily, Allah Created Mercy

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman, Ameen.

Verily, Allaah created mercy. The day He created it, He made it into 100 parts. He withheld with Him 99 parts, and send its 1 part to all His creatures. Had a disbeliever known of all the mercy which is in the Hands of Allaah, he would not have lost hope of entering Paradise, and had a believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allaah, he would not have considered himself safe from the Hell-fire. The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), as narrated by Abu Hurairah
radhiAllaahu 'anhu *[Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.8, Hadith No.476]*

The Etiquettes of Women Walking in the Streets

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman, Ameen.

The Etiquettes of Women Walking in the Streets

For women to emerge from their homes is for them to walk separately from
men. The best way to achieve it is to walk on the side of the street closer
to the buildings.

Abu ‘Usaid Ansâri (radillahu), reported that once the Prophet (sallahu
alayhi wa salaam), came out of the Masjid. On the street men and women were
walking very close together. When he saw this, he said, “O women! Get in the
back. You should walk on the side of the street rather than in the
middle”[1]

The narrator reported that afterwards the women became so careful about
walking on the sides of the streets so much so that their garments rubbed
against the walls.

‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (radillahumah) , narrated that the Prophet (sallahu alayi
wa salaam), said: “It is not permissible for women to emerge from their
homes except in dire necessity; and they should not walk on the street
except on the sides (i.e., meaning close to the buildings)”[2]

Anas bin Mâlik (radillahu) , narrated that the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa
salaam), was once going somewhere. In the street, there was a woman walking
in front of him. “He asked her to walk on the side. She replied, “ The road
is quite wide” The Companions (radillahu yun hum), of the Prophet (sallahu
alayhi wa salaam), became very annoyed. He said to them “leave her alone she
is a mutineer.”[3]

In Your Mother's Womb for 40 days

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman, Ameen.

In Your Mother’s Womb for the First 40 Days

Narrated ‘Abdullah (radillahu’ynhu): Allah’s Messenger (sallahu alayhi wa salaam), “True and Truly inspired said, (as regards your creation everyone of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for another forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: he writes down his:

1. Deeds

2. Time of his death

3. Means of his livelihood

4. And whether he will be wretched or blessed (in the Hereafter)

Then the soul is breathed into his body. So, a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angels) surpasses and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters, Paradise, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it and then what has been written ( by the angel) surpasses and he starts doing deeds of the people of the (Hell) Fire and enters the (Hell) Fire.”[1]

And in another narration the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa salaam) said: “After an embryo is Forty-two days old, Allah sends an angel to it who shapes it, forming its hearing, sight, skin, flesh and bones. Then he says: “O my Lord! Shall it be male or female? The Lord utters His judgement, and the angel writes it down.”[2]

Sisterhood - A Beneficial Reminder

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Sisterhood - A Beneficial Reminder
Author Anonymous

My dear and humble sisters in Islam, today I experienced some fitnah amongst my companions that has lead me to do some contemplation on the fact that if we all, and I speak firstly to my self and then to my dear sisters upon guidance and righteousness, think several times before we speak and even several more before we act to make sure that our actions are accordingly being done upon the adab of the Qur'aan and Sunnah, then so much of the fitnah nameemah, and gheebah that goes on amongst the sisters would be prevented. We must Tacki Allah before we perform any action towards our sisters in Islam, and be mindful tat we will be held accountable for our actions, here is a brief reminder upon sisterhood . . .
This is what the bond of Sisterhood in Islam means to me, based upon the wisdom of Allah and his Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihe Wa salaam),
"...And lower your wing for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers) ." (Al-Hijr 15:88)
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe Wa salaam) said,
"None of you has Iman (faith) until he desires for his brother (or sister) Muslim that which he desires for himself (or herself)." (Bukhari and Muslim)
He (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) also said,
"The Muslims in their mutual love, kindness and compassion are like the human body where when one of its parts is in agony the entire body feels the pain, both in sleeplessness and fever." (Bukhari and Muslim)
I love you for the sake of Allah (Subhanna wa Ta'alaa) ...
The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"On the Day of Judgement, Allah, the Most High, will announce, 'Where are those who love each other for the sake of My pleasure? This day I am going to shelter them in the shade provided by Me. Today there is no shade except My shade." (Muslim)
I will be sure to tell you of my love, Insha-Allah ...
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"If a person loves his brother, he should inform him of this fact." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidi)

I will be merciful and compassionate toward you, Insha-Allah ...
Allah (Subhanna wa Ta'alaa) says,
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against the disbelievers, and merciful among themselves.. ." (Al-Fath 48:29)
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"Do not be envious of other Muslims; do not overbid at auctions against another Muslim; do not have malice against a Muslim; do not go against a Muslim and forsake him; do not make an offering during a pending transaction. O' servants of Allah, be like brothers (or sisters) with each other. A Muslim is the brother (or sister) of another Muslim; do not hurt him (or her), or look down upon him (or her) or bring shame on him (or her). Piety is a matter of heart (The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) repeated this thrice). It is enough evil for a person to look down upon his Muslim brother (or sister). The blood, property and honor of a Muslim is inviolable to a Musilm." (Muslim)
I will keep company with you, Insha-Allah ...
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"Keep company with a believer only, and let your food be eaten only by the righteous." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidi)
He (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) also said,
"A person is likely to follow the faith of his friend, so look whom you befriend." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidi)
I will help you when necessary and I will cover your shortcomings, Insha-Allah ...
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"One who helps a fellow Muslim in removing his (or her) difficulty in this world, Allah will remove the former's distress on the Day of Judgement. He who helps to remove the hardship of another, will have his difficulties removed by Allah in this world and in the Hereafter. One who covers the shortcomings of another Muslim, will have his faults covered up in this world and the next by Allah. Allah continues to help a servant so long as he goes on helping his own brother (or sister)." (Muslim)

I will encourage you to the right, Insha-Allah ...
Allah (Subhanna wa Ta'alaa) says,
"The believers, men and women. are Auliya (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on people) Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamio Monotheism and all that Islma orders one to do), and forbids (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they offer their prayers perfectly (Iqamat-as-Salat) ; and give the Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His mercy upon them. Surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise." (At-Tauba 9:71)
When the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) instructed,
"Help your (Muslim) brother (or sister) when he commits a wrong and when a wrong is committed against him, someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, I understand how I can help him if a wrong is committed against him, but how can I help him if he is himself committing a wrong?" At that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) answered, "Stopping him from committing the wrong is helping him." (Bukhari)
I will fulfill my minimum duties and beyond, Insha-Allah ...
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) said,
"A Muslim owes six obligations towards another Muslim: when you meet him (or her), salute him (or her) saying 'Assalamu Alaikum; when he (or she) invites you, accept his (or her) invitation; when he (or she) solicits your advice, advise him (or her) sincerely; when he (or she) sneezes and praises Allah, respond with the supplication Yarhamuk Allah (Allah have mercy on you); when he (or she) falls sick, visit him (or her); on his (or her) death, join his (or her funeral)." (Muslim)
He (Sallallahu Alaihe wa Salaam) also said,
"When a Muslim visits his (or her) Muslim brother (or sister) who is sick, he (or she) certainly gathers the fruits of Paradise until he (or she) returns (from visiting)." (Muslim)
Insha-Allah. I will strive to fufill each of these rightsto you to the best of my ability, Insha-Allah. And likewise In sha Allah you will do the same for all of your sisters in Islam. This will not only enhance our bounds of Sisterhood, but will also strengthen the fibers of the Muslim Ummah. Our ultimate goal is to gain the pleasure of Allah (Subhanna wa Ta'alaa), as well as His Mercy and Blessings, Insha-Allah. May we both find the true peace that comes with being a Muslim and attaining the highest of rewards: Paradise. Ameen!!!

Trials of the Heart

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

From "Al-Fawâ'id: Points of Benefit"
By Imâm Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

Trials of the Heart
Ibn al-Qayyirn said, whilst commenting upon the following hadîth: "Trials and tribulations will be presented to hearts, as a reed mat is interwoven stick by stick. Any heart which absorbs these trials will have a black mark put in it. However, any heart that rejects them will have a white mark put in it. The result is that hearts will be of two kinds: one white like a white stone, which will not be harmed by trials as long as the heavens and earth endure; and the other dark and rusty, like an over-turned vessel; not able to recognise the good, nor reject evil, but rather being absorbed with its desires." [7]
"The fitan (trials) which are presented to the hearts - and which are the cause of its weakness - are: [i] the trials relating to shahwah (false desire) and [ii] the trials relating to shubhah (doubt) ... So the first causes intentions and desires to be corrupted, whilst the second causes knowledge and beliefs to be corrupted." [8] Speaking about such trials, he - rahimahullâh - said: "Hearts - when exposed to such fitan (trials) - are of two types: [The first type]: a heart, which, when exposed to such trials, absorbs it like a sponge that soaks-up water, leaving in it a black stain. Such a heart continues to soak-up the various trials that are presented to it, until it becomes dark and corrupted - which is what is meant by "an over-turned vessel", so when this occurs, two dangerous and deadly diseases take hold of it and plunge it into destruction:
Firstly: confusing good with evil, so it neither recognises the good, nor rejects the evil. This disease may take hold of it to such an extent that it believes good to be evil; and evil to be good, Sunnah to be bid'ah (innovation) ; and innovations to be the Sunnah, and the truth to be falsehood; and falsehood the truth.
Secondly: judging by its whims and desires, over and against what Allâh's Messenger sallallâhu 'alayhi wa sallam came with - being enslaved by its whims and desires and being led by them also.
[The second type]: a white heart in which the light of îmân is bright and its radiance is illuminating. So when trials are presented to such a heart, it rejects and turns away from them. This further increases its light and illumination and its strength." [9]

Beautiful Description of Paradise

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Ibn al-Qayyim's beautiful description of Paradise from 'Haadi al-Arwaah'
from the amazing and beautiful book Haadi al-Arwaah ilaa Bilaad
il-Afraah by Ibn al-Qayyim, pg. 193
Ibn al-Qayyim said, in regards to the description of the Paradise and
the delights that it contains:

"And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and
saffron.

And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most
Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold
and silver.

And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree
except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and
sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest
cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers, then there are rivers of milk who's
taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those
who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water
that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they
will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is Tasneem, ginger, and
Kaafoor.

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear
and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the
shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would
have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance
that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like a
concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in
buildings that have rivers running underneath them.

And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky, then look at the
shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the
heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of
silk and gold.

And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest silk
laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty, then
they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years in
the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing
of their wives from among the Hoor al-'Ayn, and better than that are
the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the
Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of
everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and
full-breasted and have had the liquid of youth flow through their
limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it, light
shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her love, then
say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights; he sees his
face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking into a polished
mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her muscles and bones;
if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she would fill what is
between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful wind, and the mouths
of the creation would glorifiy, praise, and exclaim greatness, and
everything between the East and the West would be adorned for her, and
every eye would be shut from everthing but her, and the light of the
Sun would be outshone just as the light of the Sun outshines the light
of the stars, and everyone on the face of the Earth would believe in the
Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and Protects all the exists.

And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is
in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from an
umbilical cord, childbirth and menses, and pure of mucous, saliva,
urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is
never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and
no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is
restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his
attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his desire,
and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has touched
her before of either humans or Jinn.

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of
the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face - free from any
resemblance or likeness to anything - as you see the Sun in the middle
of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the
day that the caller will call: 'O People of Paradise! Your Lord -
Blessed and Exalted - requests you to visit Him, so come to visit Him!'
So they will say: 'We hear and obey!'

Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all meet
- and none of them will turn down the request of the caller - the Lord
- Blessed and Exalted - will order His Chair to be brought there. Then,
pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls, gemstone,
gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on sheets of
musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs above them are
given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting and are secure
in their places, and the caller calls: 'O People of Paradise! You have
an appointment with Allaah in which He wishes to reward you!' So they
will say: 'And what is that reward? Has He not already made our faces
bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into Paradise, and pushed us
away from the Fire?'

And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that
encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold:
the Compeller - Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names - has come to them
from above them and majestified them and said: 'O People of Paradise!
Peace be upon you!' So, this greeting will not be responded to with
anything better than: 'O Allaah! You are Peace, and from You is Peace!
Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!' So the Lord -
Blessed and Exalted - will laugh to them and say: 'O People of
Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen
Me? This is the Day of Increase!'

So, they will all give the same response: 'We are pleased, so be pleased
with us!' So, He will say: 'O People of Paradise! If I were not pleased
with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My Paradise! So, ask
of Me!' So, they will all give the same response: 'Show us your Face so
that we may look at it!' So, the Lord - Mighty and Majestic - will
remove his covering and will majestify them and will cover them with
His Light, which, if Allaah - the Exalted - had not Willed not to burn
them, would have burned them.

And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except that
his Lord - the Exalted - will speak to him and say: 'Do you remember the
day that you did this and that?' and He will remind him of some of his
bad deeds in the Worldy life, so he will say: 'O Lord! Will you not
forgive me?' So, He will say: 'Of course! You have not reached this
position of yours (in Paradise) except by my forgiveness. '

So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the
righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife...

{Some faces that Day will be shining and radiant, looking at their
Lord...} (al-Qiyaamah: 22-3)

I Heard the Echo of your Foosteps in Paradise in Front of me

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates:-
the Prophet (may Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon him) said to Bilal:-
"Tell me~ Bilal! of your most hopeful action since your acceptance of Islam because
I have heard the echo of your footsteps in Paradise in front of me?"

Bilal replied:-
"I do not consider any of my actions more hopeful (of acceptance from Allah) than that whenever I have made my ablutions (Wudu) during the day or night I have each time offered by way of prayer that which Allah has made easy for me."
Source:-{ Bukhari Book #21, Hadith #250) & Muslim}

Notes:-
No One knew about this action except Bilal . . . . and Allah.
And look how great Allah's Reward was . . .

Do any of us have an action that ONLY Allah knows we are doing?

This is what truly makes an action special . . .
when you are so sincere that you seek
only the Pleasure of Allah.

Give away something you absolutely love, wake up at night to pray, visit an orphanage, give out some charity, really forgive someone who hurt you, submit to Allah's Decree in something you don't like. . .
or like Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) pray 2 rak'aats each time you make wudu . . . and keep it "a secret" between only you and Allah.

Then, on the Day that you finally meet Him, you will have something special to present to Him . . . something you can be sure was sincerely for His Pleasure.

The Value of Women & their Position before the time of Prophethood

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

The Value of Women and their Position before the time of Prophethood

Umm Musa. She realized the value of women and their position before the time
of Prophet-Hood. She praised Islâm for glorifying and exalting her, and she
thanked its first call for being concerned with her and for its guidance.
She did not leave men to do things by themselves without her. Just as she
followed the new religion in all stages in faith and punishment in its path,
and migrated to it and called to it by tongue and by the sword by herself
and along with her family members, husband, son and family. So as to
safeguard the din and show enthusiasm for it and she dedicated her night and
day to it along with her travel, her presence, her residency and her Hijra
(migration), as a virgin, as a wife and as a mother.

She was dutiful and at times surpassed men, as the first of the believers
was a woman and the first martyr in the path of Allâh was a woman and
likewise she was dutiful in spreading the din and preserving it, accepting
it and conveying it. It is known that some women were those who reported
thousands and hundreds and tens of ahadith of the master of the Messengers.
Her condition progressed and the Muslim woman increased in self-trust,
mighty status and happiness with Islâm. From women were to be found
admonishers, scholars, jurists and Hadith specialists throughout the
different times and epochs, in all areas and regions. She found herself
after loss and ruin and from going from condition to condition, from a
condition wherein she was a despised thing within the family and society
during her childhood and her youth with no rights, no respect and no care
for her opinions and presence.

Men enslaved her submissiveness and if she was asked she would not answer
and if she was needed to gather firewood, fetch water, pick-up the
date-kernels for the camels and feed the dogs she had to do it if she quiet.
She was a garment for the thirst of desires in aversion and distrust as from
the day of her entry into the world faces would be grieved and souls would
be perplexed and disturbed as to what to do with her, should the father keep
the baby girl or bury her alive in the ground? Her glad-tidings were thus
indignation, anger and to be buried alive into the earth, yet intelligence
was her distinctive character throughout the length of her time with the
light of the heavens and guidance of the Prophets. Men with their idolatrous
actions and upbring of soothsaying tried to conceal her delightful origins
and yet her body, shining and glowing and not fearing or turning away.

Tie your Camel first, then put your Trust in Allah

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

If Allah helps you, none can overcome you:

If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you?

In Allah, then, Let believers put their trust.
{Quran Surah€ # 3 Al-Imran verse# 160}
Tie your Camel First!

One day Prophet Muhammad
( peace and blessings be upon him)
noticed a Bedouin leaving his camel without tying it.
He asked the Bedouin...
"Why don't you tie down your camel?"
The Bedouin answered~
"I put my trust in Allah."
The Prophet
( peace and blessings be upon him) then said:-
"Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah"
(Tirmidhi)
A man may utter a word pleasing to Allaah without considering it of any
significance, but for which Allaah elevates his ranks
(in Paradise); another one
may speak a word displeasing to Allaah without considering it of any
importance, but for which he would be plummeted into Hell."
[Bukhari]

Lose a Precious Pearl over Limited # of Dinars?

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

In Al-Fawaaid Ad-daraaree Al-Ajloonee, related that Imam Bukhaaree (may Allah have mercy on him) once travelled by boat on a journey to seek out knowledge and that he had taken with him one-thousand dinars.
One of his fellow travelers ingratiated himself with Imam Bukharee, outwadly showing him love and admiration. During the sea-voyage, the man often made it a point to sit in his company. On long journeys, friendships develop faster than normal, and during the course of the time they spent together, Imam Bukhaaree informed the man that he had one-thousand dinars with him.

The morning after Imam Bukharee spoke about the money, the man woke up and began to cry, scream, rip his clothing apart, and slap his own face, as if he had just been afflicted with a great loss. His fellow shipmates asked him what was wrong, and he refused to answer at first, as if he was still in a state of shock and could not bring himself to speak about his situation. After they continually insisted that he tell them what the matter was with him, he finally said,
“I had a bag that contained one-thousand dinars, and I lost it.”

The crewmen who were incharge of the ship began to search the passengers. One by one everyone was being searched, and upon realizing what was happening,
Imam Bukharee, making sure that no one was looking, threw his bag of money over the side of the ship.
When it was his turn to be searched, nothing was found.
When the entire ship and all of its passengers were searched, and when no bag of money was found, those in authority on the ship went back to the man who had made up the story and chastised him for making a false claim and for putting them through so much trouble.

As soon as the ship finally reached shore, the passengers began to disembark;meanwhile , Imam Bukhaaree’s old friend went to him and asked him what he had done with the bag of money.

“I threw it into the sea,” Imam Bukhaaree matter-of-factly replied.

“And you are patiently accepting the fact that you have just lost such a huge sum of money?” the man asked in bewilderment.

“O ignorant one,” Imam Bukhaaree said:

“do you not know that I have spent my entire life gathering the Ahadeeth of the Messenger (Sallalaahu alaihi wa Sallam) and that the world now acknowledges my trustworthiness.
Would it then have been befitting for me to subject myself to the accusation of theft? And shall I lose the precious  (i.e my knowledge and achievements as a scholar)
that I have earned over a lifetime over a limited number of dinars?”[1]

Shyness is of 2 Types

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Shyness is of two types
Source: My Advice to the Women - Umm Abdillah al-Waadi'iyyah - pgs 253-259

Shyness is of two types:
1. What consists of character and disposition and cannot be acquired. Shyness is
the behavior Allah granted the servant. The Prophet sallallahu alayhe was salaam
said " Shyness brings about nothing but good." It prohibits a person from
committing despicable actions and displaying degrading behavior.

2.What is attainable through knowing Allah and knowing His greatness as well as
His closeness to His servants. His overseeing them, and His knowledge of what
deceives the eyes while being hidden in the chests.
Shyness from Allah may be caused by witnessing and reflecting over His blessings
and the shortcomings associated with being thankful for them.
The praiseworthy shyness is the behavior that encourages the performing of
commendable actions and abandoning the wretched.
Concerning the statement : " If you do not feel shy then do as you wish ." One
meaning is that it does not command to do whatever you wish, but it conveys a
meaning of blame and prohibition. One way of interpreting it is that it conveys
a threat/warning. The second way to interpret it is that it is a way of
conveying information. The thing that prohibits a person from doing bad actions
is shyness.
An-Nawawee said , The Scholars said that the reality of shyness is the character
that encourages the abandonment of despicable actions and prevents against
negligence concerning the rights of the people who possess rights over others.
Aboo Al Qaasim al Junayd said Shyness is recognizing Allahs favors, meaning His
blessings and the recognizing of ones own negligence in light of them both.

When shyness is lost, every type of evil is committed.
There are five signs of wretchedness :
1. The harshness in the hearts
2. The unflinching eye
3. The lack of shyness
4. The seeking of worldy pleasures.
5. Longevity in life

An example of shyness is Asmaa bint Aboo Bakr in the hadeeth where she carried
the date stones and was offered to ride behind the Prophet sallallahu alayhe was
salaam but was too shy.

Low Level Modesty = Low Level Piety = Heart Dying!

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz said to Al-Ahnaf bin Qays:-

O Ahnaf, the more one laughs,
the less dignity will he posses.
Whoever jokes {excessively or indecently}
is a person who will be taken lightly.
Whoever does something frequently will become known by that thing.
Whoever speaks often, errs often;
the more often one errs,
the less modesty will he posses;
Whoever has a low level of modesty will also have a low level of piety;
and when one has a low level of piety,
then his Heart Dies.

The Duties & Tasks of the Angels

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

AUTHOR: Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzaan
SOURCE: His booklet: "Al-Eemaan bil-Malaa'ikah"
PRODUCED BY: Al-Ibaanah.com

The angels have duties. Each of them has a duty that he is entrusted with, and he does not delay in carrying it out. Rather, he executes it acting on Allaah's order and He doesn't disobey Him. Allaah says: "(Hell) Over which are angels stern and severe who do not disobey the Commands they receive from Allaah, but do that which they are commanded." [Surah At-Tahreem: 6]

Some of their Duties:
First: Those who take charge of the Hellfire. They are known as the Guardians of Hell, meaning, those entrusted with the Hellfire and with tormenting its inhabitants.

Second: Among them are angels that are entrusted with carrying the Throne of Allaah, as He says: "Those who carry the Throne (of Allaah) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord and believe in Him. And they ask forgiveness for those who believe, (saying): `Our Lord! You encompass all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent.'" [Surah Ghaafir: 7]

And Allaah says: "And bearing the Throne of your Lord on that Day will be eight (angels)." [Surah Al-Haaqah: 17]

The Number of Angels who will Bear the Throne:
The angels that will carry the Throne are four. Then on the Day of Judgement their number will increase to eight. The Throne of Allaah is the greatest of His creations, which will be carried on the Day of Judgement by eight angels. This shows that they are indeed mighty, since they will carry this magnificent Throne, which is the greatest and mightiest of Allaah's creations. This indicates their power and their tremendous composures.

Third: Among them are those angels entrusted with revelation. Allaah says: "He sends down the angels with the Rooh (spirit/revelation) from His Command to whomever He wills from His servants, (saying): `Warn mankind that there is no deity that has the right to be worshipped except Me, so be dutiful to Me.'" [Surah An-Nahl: 2]

The word Rooh (spirit) here means revelation. It is called Rooh because it is the revelation that brings life to the hearts, just as the rain brings life to the earth. In the same sense, it is the created Rooh (spirit) that brings life to the bodies of animals.

Rooh can also stand for the Qur'aan, as Allaah says: "And thus We have revealed to you (O Muhammad) a Rooh (i.e. Qur'aan) from Our Command." [Surah Ash-Shooraa: 52]

Rooh here stands for the Qur'aan, since it is that which brings life to the hearts of the believers, just as the earth is brought to life by rain. Such is the case with the hearts of the believers – they are brought to life by way of the Qur'aan.

The word Rooh is also used to refer to Jibreel, who is the greatest, most honorable and virtuous of all the angels. He is the one who brought the Qur'aan down from Allaah to Muhammad, as Allaah says: "The trustworthy spirit (Jibreel) brought it (i.e. the Qur'aan) down – to your heart (O Muhammad) in order that you may be from the warners – in a plain Arabic language." [Surah Ash-Shu'araa: 193-195]

So Jibreel brought the Qur'aan down to the heart of the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), and he in turn conveyed it to his ummah. In another ayah, Allaah says: "Say: The holy spirit (Jibreel) brought it down from your Lord." [Surah An-Nahl: 102]

This is referring to the angel Jibreel – he is the holy spirit.

The Attributes of Jibreel:
Allaah has described Jibreel with great characteristics, as He says: "So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (disappear during the day and appear at night). And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves. And by the night as it departs. And by the dawn as it brightens. Verily, this is the Word (brought by) an honorable messenger (i.e. angel) – Possessing power and a high rank with the Lord of the Throne. Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens)." [Surah At-Takweer: 15-21]

The First Attribute: Power: Allaah says: "Possessing power and a high rank with the Lord of the Throne." [Surah At-Takweer: 20] The "Lord of the Throne" here refers to Allaah.

The Second Attribute: Position: Allaah says: "Possessing power and a high rank with the Lord of the Throne." [Surah At-Takweer: 20] This means that he possesses a high position in the sight of Allaah, which no one else has reached.

The Third Attribute: Obedience: All of the angels obey Jibreel by the Permission of Allaah.

The Fourth Attribute: Trustworthiness: This refers to the revelation, such that he doesn't make additions or subtractions to it, but rather, He conveys it just the way that Allaah has revealed it to him.

The Prophet Muhammad's Seeing Jibreel:
Allaah says: "And your companion is not insane." [Surah At-Takweer: 22] This is what the disbelievers claimed about him (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). "And indeed he (Muhammad) saw him (Jibreel) in the clear horizon)." [Surah At-Takweer: 23] Muhammad (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) saw Jibreel on the horizon twice.

The First Time: This was in the valley of Makkah. The Prophet Muhammad (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) lifted his head and saw him in the sky and he had 600 wings. Each one of his wings blocked the horizon.

The Second Time: Allaah says: "And indeed he (Muhammad) saw him (Jibreel) at a second descent – near the lote-tree of the utmost boundary." [Surah An-Najm: 13-14] This occurred during the night in which the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) ascended to the heaven and saw him in his natural state.

These are the attributes of Jibreel. Allaah says: "Verily, this is the Word (brought by) an honorable messenger (i.e. angel)." [Surah At-Takweer: 19]

This means: Even though the Qur'aan is the Speech of Allaah, it is ascribed to Jibreel here, since he is the one who conveyed it to Muhammad. So he is conveying from Allaah, for he dictated it to our messenger, Muhammad, conveying it from Allaah. However, it is the Speech of Allaah. Speech is only attributed to the one who states it originally, not to the one who says it conveying it from someone else. However, the Speech of Allaah has been attributed to Jibreel here from the perspective of his conveying it.

Fourth: There are angels entrusted with other duties: 1. Mikaa'eel: He is responsible for the raindrops that fall down from the sky. He moves them around and causes the rain to descend wherever Allaah commands.

2. Israafeel is responsible for blowing on the Trumpet. This will be at the time when Allaah wants to resurrect the creatures from their graves. The bodies will be brought forth from the graves and reassembled. Then the only thing remaining (to be integrated) will be the soul. It is at this point that Israafeel will blow on this horn, due to Allaah's Command, and the souls will float to their respective bodies, which had come out and risen from their graves. Then they will walk to where Allaah orders them to go. Allaah says: "The Day when they will come out of the graves quickly as if they were racing to a goal." [Surah Al-Ma'aarij: 43]

And Allaah says: "They will come forth with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread about. Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: `This is a hard day.'" [Surah Al-Qamar: 7-8]

These are the three angles that are responsible for life. Jibreel is responsible for bringing the revelation, which brings life into the hearts. And Mikaa'eel is responsible for the raindrops, which bring life to the earth after its death. Israafeel is responsible for blowing on the trumpet, which will bring life to the bodies (on the Day of Resurrection). This is why when the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) would get up for prayer at night, after saying the opening Takbeer, he (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) would say in his opening supplication: "O Allaah! Lord of Jibreel, Mikaa'eel and Israafeel, Originator of the heavens and the earth…"

These are the greatest angels due to the magnitude of their duties.

Fifth: There are also angels that are put in charge of the fetuses in the mothers' wombs. This has been reported in the hadeeth of Ibn Mas'ood (radyAllaahu 'anhu), in which he said: "The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) narrated to us – and he is the truthful one who is believed – saying: `Verily the creation of each of one of you is brought together in his mother's womb for forty days in the form of a seed, then he is a clot of blood for a like period, then a morsel of flesh for a like period. Then the angel is sent to him and commanded with four matters – to write down his means of livelihood, his life span, his actions, and whether he will be happy or unhappy.'" Allaah sends this angel to him to carry out this great important task.

Sixth: There are angels that are in charge of taking the souls when their prescribed time is over. There is the Angel of Death (Malak-ul-Mawt) about whom Allaah says: "Say: `The Angel of Death, who is set over you, will take your souls.'" [Surah As-Sajdah: 11]

The Angel of Death has assistants that will aid him, as Allaah says: "Until when death approaches one of you, Our messengers (i.e. the Angel of Death and his assistants) take his soul, and they never neglect their duty. Then they are returned to Allaah, their Master, the Just Lord." [Surah Al-An'aam: 61-62] So taking the soul at the time of death is ascribed to the angels, to the Angel of Death and also to Allaah.

"It is Allaah who takes away the souls at the time of their death." [Surah Az-Zumar: 42] Death is ascribed to Allaah here because He is the One who orders it to occur. It is ascribed to the angels because they are the ones who physically carry that out by gathering the soul and leading it out of the human's body until it reaches his throat. And it is also ascribed to the Angel of Death - "Say: `The Angel of Death, who is set over you, will take your souls'" – because he is the one in charge of seizing the souls after they have been rounded up in the last stage (of death).

Seventh: There are also angels in charge of recording the deeds of the son of Aadam (i.e. humans), as occurs in the hadeeth: "You are constantly being frequented (in successive shifts) by angels at night and angels during the day." Allaah says: "And verily, there are guardians (i.e. angels recording your deeds) over you – Honorable, recording (your deeds). They know all that you do." [Surah Al-Infitaar: 10-12]

Every human being has two angels with him:
Every human amongst us has two angels that are responsible over him – an angel on his right side recording his good deeds and another on his left side recording his bad deeds. Allaah says: "When the two receivers receive (i.e. record his deeds) from his right side and his left side, sitting. Not a word does he utter, except that there is a watcher by him ready (to record it)." [Surah Qaaf: 17-18]

These guardian angels accompany a human being whether he is on a journey or sitting at home – they are next to him at all times under all conditions – during his prayer, while he is prostrating, etc. – they accompany him and do not leave him alone except under specific circumstances, such as when the person is relieving himself (in the bathroom). So these angels record his statements and his actions.

The angels record People's Intentions and Objectives:
It has been related that the angels also record a person's intentions and inner objectives, which are located in the heart. Whatever he intends to do, they record it. This is why a person is rewarded for having good intention, since it is an action of the heart, while he is punished for evil intentions, since the intention is an action of the heart.

These angels are put in charge of recording a person's deeds from the time that he reaches the age of puberty – the age of discernment – to the time when Allaah takes his soul in death. And they record against him everything that he does in his life – whether that is in the form of intentions, actions, statements, or other than that.

The Status of the Fajr and `Asr Prayers amidst the Other Prayers:
The Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "You are constantly being frequented (in successive shifts) by angels at night and angels during the day. And they gather together during the `Asr Prayer and during the Fajr Prayer." This is why these two prayers are the greatest of all prayers. Allaah says: "Verily, the recitation of the Qur'aan in the early dawn (i.e. Fajr Prayer) is witnessed (by the angels)." [Surah Al-Israa: 78] He is referring here to the Fajr Prayer, which the angels of the night and the angels of the day attend. They gather together to witness the Fajr prayer along with the Muslims and listen to the Qur'aan that is recited in prayer. They also gather together during the `Asr Prayer, where Allaah asks them, even though He is most knowledgeable of the answer: "In what state did you leave My servants?" The angels reply, saying: "We came to them while they were praying and we left them while they were praying." This means that they descended while we were praying `Asr and they attended the prayer along with us. And then they rose back up (to the heavens) while we were praying Fajr.

Due to this, it has been determined that the `Asr Prayer is the "Middle Prayer" that Allaah has encouraged us about, where He says: "Guard strictly the (five daily) prayers, especially the middle prayer (i.e. `Asr)." [Surah Al-Baqarah: 238] He means by this the `Asr prayer since that is the prayer that the (guardian) angels of the night and the angels of the day attend.

A Call to those who fall short:
So where are those who hold back from attending the Fajr Prayer, sleeping (instead) in their beds and not witnessing this great event every night with the angels of the Most Merciful? This is such that these angels inform about these attendees (of the Fajr Prayer) while in the most highest of gatherings, saying: "We came to them while they were praying and we left them while they were praying."

What benefit has this person who refrains from going to the Fajr Prayer and instead prefers sleep gained from his actions? And what benefit has this person who misses out on attending the `Asr Prayer, due to laziness, preferring sleep or some other deed, gained from his actions?

It is stated in the hadeeth that: "Whoever misses the `Asr Prayer, it is as if he lost his family and wealth." And in another hadeeth it states: "…then he has nullified his actions." This means that he has taken the prayer out of its proper time. So if he takes it out of its proper time, he has missed it.

Eight: There are also angels that are responsible for protecting humans from perils. A human being is prone to walk into dangers everyday. However, Allaah entrusts angels that guard and protect him from these dangers during his lifetime, which Allaah has ordained for him. This earth, which a human being walks upon everyday, contains many dangers. There are wild beasts, snakes, scorpions, not to mention transgressors from among humans – enemies and oppressors. However, Allaah has placed these angels around the human being. Allaah says: "He has those (angels) who constantly surround him – from before him and behind him, protecting him by the Command of Allaah." [Surah Ar-Ra'ad: 11]

Therefore, so long as Allaah has decreed that this individual will be safe from harms, these angels will protect and guard him, and no human will be able to harm him. But if Allaah desires to bring an end to his appointed time, He removes them from him – one from before him and one from behind him.

"Verily, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they (first) change the condition of themselves. And when Allaah desires a bad end for a people, there is no turning it back." [Surah Ar-Ra'ad: 11] So if Allaah's Divine Pre-Decree comes to pass and He desires to put an end to this person, the angels that constantly surround him withdraw themselves from him because they do not refrain from carrying out Allaah's Command. These are the angels that constantly surround a person.

Ninth: There are also angels that have responsibilities in this universe that only Allaah has knowledge of. There are angels that are put in charge of the seas and angels put in charge of the days. There are angels responsible for the winds and angels put in charge of carrying out many other duties.

All of the events that occur in the universe and which constantly transpire within it on a daily basis are only by Allaah's decreeing that. As for the angels, they carry out whatever tasks Allaah orders them to execute.

Know your Enemy - Verily Shaitan Spends the Night in your Nose

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allah's Messenger (Salallahu Alaihi Wa Salaam) said,
When anyone of you wakes up, he Must rinse his nose three times. Verily Shaytan spends the night inside a person's nostrils.
(Collected by Bukhari 3121 and Muslim 23)
Benefits for this subject:
  • Blowing the nose is an obligation with the Hanbali school of thought and a sunnah with the majority of scholars.
  • This hadeeth shows that Shaytaan can't open what's closed or locked. Furthermore it has been reported that when a person yawns he should cover his mouth, so Shaytan can't enter.[ Subulus Salaam]
  • Shaykh Muhammad Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) commented on this hadeeth in his explanation for Sahih Muslim. He said, "This hadeeth proves that Shaytan has the ability to do things and we don't have the ability to perceive it.  Shaytan spends the night in our nose and we don't know how. We can't make out how anyone could shape their body for the size of a nostril. However if it was something that crawled the size of an atom we could see how."

Allah Does not Wrong Anyone

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
This becomes clear when one understands the meaning of (سبحانك), “glory be to You; far removed are You from any imperfection” for this statement comprises exaltation of the Lord as well as absolving Him of all deficiency. The situation that Yunus found himself in demanded that Allah be absolved of oppression and that He be absolved of punishing without cause, therefore he said, ‘You are Holy, absolved of oppressing me or punishing me without cause, rather I am the oppressor who has oppressed himself.’ Allah, Exalted is He, says,

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

«We did not wrong them; rather they wronged themselves»[Surah an-Nahl 16:118]

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ

«We did not wrong them; rather wronged themselves» [Surah Hud 11:101]

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا هُمُ الظَّالِمِينَ

«We have not wronged them; it was they who were the wrongdoers»
[az-Zukbruf 43:76]

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا

«Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves» [Surah Al-Araf 7:23]

Similarly the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said in the sahih hadith reported by Muslim concerning the opening supplication in prayer,

0 Allah! You are the King, there is none worthy of worship besides You; You are my Lord and I am Your servant, I have wronged my soul and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me all my sins for indeed none forgives sins save You. Muslim [#771] and Abu Dawud [#760].
Bukhari records the hadith,
The master of asking for forgiveness [is the supplication],

`0 Allah! You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship save You. You created me and I am Your servant, I am trying to fulfill Your agreement and promise to the best of my ability. I take refuge with You from the evil I have wrought, I acknowledge Your favours to me and I confess my sin, so forgive me for none forgives sins save You.’

Whoever says this supplication with certainty when he awakes in the morning and dies during that day, he will enter Paradise. Whoever says this supplication with certainty when he lies down to sleep in the evening and dies during that night, he will enter Paradise.’ Bukhari [#6306] and an-Nasal [8/279].

Hence it is upon the servant to acknowledge the justice of Allah and His benevolence; He does not oppress man in the slightest and does not punish anyone except for a sin that he committed. He is always bestowing His grace upon man, therefore every punishment from him arises from pure justice, and every favour from him arises from His benevolence.

But it will not go past their throat

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

On the authority of Abu Sa'eed Al- Khudree ( May Allah be pleased with him) he said that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

" There will come a people who will recite the Qur'aan but it will not go past their throats.

Three types of people read the Qur'aan:
a believer,
a hypocrite,
and a criminal."

Women Wearing Perfume Outside

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

AbdurRahman.org | April 19, 2011 at 5:28 PM | Categories: Islam, women | URL: http://wp.me/p1VJ3-yU
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful...

The imaam, Aboo Daawood {d.275) collected in his Sunan (#4174) that Aboo Hurayrah encountered a woman who was wearing perfume, and the tail of her garment was dusty.  He said, "O servant of al-Jabbaar!  Have you come from the masjid?"  She said, "Yes."  He said, "And you have perfumed yourself for that purpose (i.e. praying in the masjid)?"  She said, "Yes."  He then said, "I heard my beloved Abul-Qaasim (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) saying:
"The prayer of a woman who wears perfume to go to the masjid is not accepted until she returns and takes a bath, like the bath of janaabah (after sexual intercourse, i.e. a full bath)."
Understanding the Hadeeth:
[1] The hadeeth was also collected by Ahmad, Ibn Maajah and others, with a weak chain because of 'Aasim ibn 'Ubaydillaah.  However, it is strengthened by another chain found in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah (1682).  The latter chain is also weak, however they strengthen each other and thus the hadeeth is considered authentic, classified as: hasan lighayrihi[1].  Ibn Khuzaymah considered the hadeeth to be authentic.  Al-Albaanee authenticated it in as-Saheehah (1031).

[2] The statement, "like the bath of janaabah" specifies that the intention is not to just remove the perfume from the place it was applied, but rather a full bath must be taken.

[3] Some people may misunderstand the hadeeth to be specific to women who go the masjid for prayer, however this is clearly not the case.  The mention of the masjid is not restrictive in this hadeeth, and the ruling applies to women going out anywhere.  Since the masjid is a place where the men have been encouraged to dress well for and wear perfume, then it is not disliked for the smell of the perfume to be in the masjid.  So the problem with women wearing perfume to the masjid is the distraction they would create and the potential fitnah that would ensue.  This is the 'illah (reason) for the prohibition.  Thus, if this is the ruling for being around the best people, the people who pray in the masjids, the people whom Allaah has praised in His Book as being those who truly believe in Him and that they are men who are not distracted by trade, then how much more does the prohibition apply to the most evil places, the gathering sites of the wicked (fujjaar), the most despised places on earth to Allaah...!!  So it as if he was using the masjid as an example of the best case scenario, where one would never imagine someone acting upon his desires and chasing after a woman... so then if it is not allowed to wear perfume in such a place, then what about the places where illicit behavior is very common!

This general application of the hadeeth seems to be what Aboo Daawood understood when he gathered the hadeeth in his Sunan and entitled the chapter: "The Chapter of What has Been Reported About Women Wearing Perfume Outside"

[4] A similar hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim (#444) forbids women from attending 'Eshaa' Prayer in the masjid if they have been affected by bakhoor (burned fragrances, like incense).  It is also to be understood in light of point #3.

[5] The hadeeth shows that the Companions used to enjoin the good and forbid the evil with women who were not in their family.

[6] The hadeeth also shows the practical implementation of tathab-but (being certain before acting), since Aboo Hurayrah asked the woman, "And you have perfumed yourself...?"  Notice that he did not assume that the scent was hers without asking.

And Allaah knows best.

Allah is too Generous to go Back Upon a Thing He has forgiven! [Tirmidhi]

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

ALLAH IS JUST AND GENEROUS !

The Prophet Muhammad
{Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Salaam} said:-

"If anyone transgresses and receives punishment in this world,

Allah is too just to repeat the punishment of His servant in the next.

And if anyone transgresses and Allah conceals it and forgives him,

He is too generous to go back upon a thing
He has forgiven."!!

Concept of Friendship in Islam

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.

Allah Subhanuhu wa Ta`ala says in Noble Qur`an;
(interpretation of the meaning)

"O you who believe!
Guard your own souls:
If you follow the right guidance
[and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong]
no hurt can come to you from those who are in error.
The return of you all is to Allah,
then He will inform you about (all) that
which you used to do."

(Noble Qur'an : Surah 5, Ayah 105):

Concept Of Friendship In Islam:

Humans are social creatures by nature;
they're always in need of friends and companions.
Most of our lives depend on interaction with others.
Strong individuals are the core of a strong community,
something that Muslims should always strive for.

We all know that
Allah the Most High has brought us to life in order to test us.
Thus we are here for a relatively short period of time
and that we shall meet Allah one Day,
so we need to use our present life for what is best for us
in the hereafter.

Once we know our purpose and our goal in life,
we should seek ways to achieve them
so as to benefit our own selves.

In an authentic Hadith,
Prophet Mohammad (Sall'Allahu alaihi wasallam) said:

"A person is likely to follow
the faith of his friend,
so look whom you befriend."

Prophet Mohammad (Sall'Allahu alaihi wasallam)
who has the most noble character and dealings with fellow humans
gave us a very clear and simple message
and advice in regard to friendship.

How should we choose our friends?

We should choose the friend that believes
and abide by our religion (Islam)
and gives great respect to
what Allah and Prophet Mohammad
(Sall'Allahu alaihi wasallam) has ordered us.

And we should stay away from that
who is not well mannered
and gives no attention to what Islam is about
or what pleases or displeases Allah,
for he'll surely affect us negatively.

There is no good in the companion
drowns us in sins and displeasing Allah.

The bases for the actions of those
who follow the evil ways are corrupt;
their actions are built upon misguidance and deviation.
Their deeds are worthless to them
as
Allah Subhanuhu wa Ta`ala says in Noble Qur`an;
(interpretation of the meaning)

"And We will proceed to
what they have done of deeds,
so We shall render them
to scattered floating dust."

(Noble Qur'an - Surah 25: Ayah 23)

Their actions, even if we see them as righteous and noble
are of no value to them, so how can they be useful to us?

Good friends are those
who share their companions
both happiness and sadness.

If we share our feelings with the wrong-doers
whose actions are worthless and based on corruption,
then we are following
the same ways and standards as they are,
and we'll end up being as corrupted as they are,
and then we're in a big trouble, how can we face
Allah's dissatisfaction and displeasure?!

Instead of making friends with the misguided ones
we should befriend the righteous,
yet treat the rest in a gracious and just manner.

Staying at sufficient distance is necessary;
yet treating everybody
in a noble and kind manner is required.

In another Hadith,
Prophet Mohammad (Sall'Allahu alaihi wasallam) said:

"The example of
a good companion and a bad companion
is like that of the seller of musk,
and the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows.
So as for the seller of musk then
either he will grant you some,
or you buy some from him,
or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him.
As for the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows then
either he will burn your clothes
or you will get an offensive smell from him."

When choosing our friends
we should ask ourselves first:

Are they going to help us achieve the purpose
for which we were brought to life?
or will they take us away from it?

Will they desire for us Allah's pleasure
or is that completely irrelevant to them
and not their concern at all?

Are they leading us to Paradise
or to the Hell?

Allah Subhanuhu wa Ta`ala says in Noble Qur`an;
(interpretation of the meaning)

"O you who believe!
Guard your own souls:
If you follow the right guidance,
[and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong]
no hurt can come to you from those
 who are in error.
The return of you all is to Allah,
then He will inform you about (all) that
 which you used to do."
(Noble Qur'an: 5:105)
