Dipping Oil/Butter/Sauce for Breads
As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! I hope this finds you close to Allah & in the best of health and Iman.
I just love dipping my bread in a mixture of oil & herbs. Below are some great "Copycat" recipes to try.
Carraba's Bread Dipping Sauce
1 tablespoon fresh minced basil
1 tablespoon fresh minced parsley (Italian best)
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup olive oil
1/8 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Combine all except oil and lemon juice in a small food processor or coffee
bean grinder. Chop briefly until all about the same size. Stir in olive
oil and lemon juice. To serve, combine about 1 1/2 tsp. herb mixture to
3-4 Tbsp. olive oil mixture on a small dish. Dip sliced bread in mixture.
Carrabbas Italian "Butter"
1/8 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. basil
1/8 tsp. rosemary
1/8 tsp. or a little less kosher salt (use according to your taste)
fresh ground pepper
dash of red pepper flakes
1 large clove of garlic (crushed)
2 to 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Mix together your dry spices. Add crushed garlic to the dry spices. Place
on small saucer. Pour olive oil over mixture. Dip with your favorite hot
French bread.

Red Lentil Soup Recipe
As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh!
Insha Allah this finds you in the best of health and Iman.
Insha Allah this finds you in the best of health and Iman.
1 cup dried red lentils
1 medium onion, diced
1 TB olive oil
2 chicken (or vegetable) bouillon cubes
2 bay leaves
1 ½ tsp cumin (or use curry powder for a different flavor if you make this every night)
¼ tsp black pepper
3 cups hot water
Fresh lemon and parsley (optional, for garnish)
In a saucepot, heat the oil on medium heat and add the onion; sauté for 5 minutes or until the onion is slightly softened. Add the lentils, bouillon cubes, bay leaves, cumin, black pepper, and hot water; cover the pot and bring the soup up to a rolling boil, then turn down the heat and let it boil gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste the soup for salt and pepper. Serve garnished with fresh lemon and a sprig of fresh parsley if desired.
