Juice Fasting - Using fresh Fruit & Vegetable Juices for a great inner body detox/cleanse & to lose some weight!

Juice Fasting is a great way to detox/cleanse the inner body/organs and lose some weight!  Results are different for everybody.  Many doctors prescribe Juice Fasting for their patients.  I personally love Juice Fasting because no chemicals are involved.  Fresh Fruits & Vegetables provide so many vitamins & nutrients that are quickly absorbed into your body.

If you don't have a good quality juicer nor can afford one, you can use a blender to make smoothies (juices & fiber enriched pulp).  You can make juice by the glass or you can do what I do and make enough for the entire day and switch out recipes each day or you can make more than one recipe and keep them in your fridge for some variety.  Typically, juices will be good for 3 or 4 days as long as they stay cold in your fridge.  Make sure you shake the juices well because the pulp & juice will start to separate.  If the juices are too concentrated/strong for your taste, you can dilute them by adding some water.

There are different time lengths for fasts.  Some do a weekend fast, some do 7 days, 14 days, 21 days or more!  Some people even do a month!  I know of some people who did an initial 45 day Juice Fast to really clean out the inner body then kept themselves on a regular schedule of shorter fasts a couple times a year!  Many doctors say that doing a Juice Fast atleast a couple of times a year is beneficial for keeping the inner body on track!

On a Juice Fast, you can drink as much juice as you like!  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water too

Morning Sunshine Smoothie

2 large oranges
1 red grapefruit
6 frozen strawberries
1/2 banana
Squeeze the juice from the oranges and grapefruit.
Put the juice in a blender and blend with the strawberries and banana.

Watermelon Dream Juice

2 cups cubed watermelon, cold
2 cups cubed cantaloupe, cold
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
Pass the ingredients through a juicer.

Strawberry Thirst Quencher Smoothie

1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup orange juice
2 tsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice
Put ingredients in a blender.

Carrot Cleanser Juice

4 large carrots
1 stalk of celery
1 apple
handful spinach
juice from 1/2 lemon (optional)
Pass the ingredients through a blender

FRUIT JUICE RECIPES

Lemon~Lime Ginger Ale
(Serves 1)
1 apple, cored and sliced
1/4 lemon
1/2 inch fresh ginger (less if you find the taste too strong)
1/2 lime
handful of grapes
sparkling mineral water

Remove the grapes from the stem. Juice the apple and ginger together, then juice the rest of the fruit. Pour the juice in a large glass and fill to the top with sparkling water and serve with ice.

1 inch piece ginger
3 apples or 1 cup apple cider
